The phonics programme is a highly effective classroom tool. Students are actively engaged mentally and physically in saying the letters, making the sounds and pairing these with the hand movements. Students become more familiar with more complex sounds and spelling patterns through the programme, and this transfers into their ability to decode unfamiliar words in texts. I also used this resource to address some mis-pronounciation of words (e. g. free instead of three). The visual cards with the printed letters are a valuable resource in my classroom. I appreciate the effectiveness of the programme through the short, simple sessions it requires.
